Osagiede Law Firm provides extensive services in:

FAMILY LAW - Se habla espanol.

  • Divorce -Getting a divorce is always an emotional experience.  When both parties agree to the grounds and terms of the divorce then it is said to be uncontested.  Uncontested divorces may be resolved within 60 days of filing the petition.  These types of divorces are the quickest and most affordable.  Unfortunately contested divorces, where the parties are not in agreement, are more complex and may have to be heard in court where the judge will render an appropriate division of the property and assign custody and child support when necessary.  Contested divorces generally take longer to resolve.
  • Annulment -Under certain circumstances an annulment may be granted.
  • Child Support -Generally, the parent awarded custody of the child(ren) is entitled to child support from the other parent.  We can assist in obtaining child support or reducing it if the party’s circumstances have changed.
  • Parent Child Relationship -Sometimes it is necessary to establish paternity of a child to obtain custody, child support, or to negate the theory that the child belongs to someone he doesn’t.  This is called modifying the parent-child relationship.
  • Modification -Sometimes circumstances change after the rendition of a judgment or court order.  The need may arise to change custody, adjust visitation schedule, reduce or increase child support, or even stop child support payments.  This is called modifying the parent child relationship.
  • Visitation -A non-custodial parent has the right to access and possession of his child(ren) at times that are either mutually agreed to by the parties or ordered by the judge.  Sometimes these rights are infringed upon by the other party.  We can assist in acquiring, enforcing or modifying visitation rights.
  • Enforcement -In some cases a suit does not end with getting a judgment or court order.  Problems may arise in enforcing the judgment or court order.  We can assist in enforcing your visitation rights, obtaining a property settlement, including but not limited to money judgments, and enforcing a child support order.  When necessary we can bring suit for enforcement by sanctions on the non-complying party.
  • Custody -A change of custody may be necessary due to a change in a party’s circumstances.  However, this process must be heard in court as changing child custody is a big decision and the courts look strictly at the child’s welfare.
  • Termination -A party may want to terminate their parental rights for several reasons.  We can assist in this process and help make it less difficult and complicated for both parties.
  • Adoption -Adopting a child or in some cases an adult is a wonderful thing but must be done cautiously to avoid unnecessary expenses in the long run.
  • Name Change -Various situations may arise where a name change may be necessary.  Our office provides services in obtaining name changes for both children and adults.

PERSONAL INJURY

  • Car accidents -Being the victim of an auto collision at the expense of someone else’s negligence or recklessness is frustrating and expensive.  We attempt to relieve our clients of the stress of dealing with adjusters, medical providers, property damage, loss wages, mechanics and car rentals.  Our objective is to maximize the clients’ recovery for injuries sustained and damages incurred.  Bringing a case to us is risk free.  There is no retainer or flat fee.  These types of cases are handled on a contingency fee basis, usually at a rate of 33 1/3%.  If the claim is denied, the client is not responsible for any expenses or attorney fees.
  • Slip and fall -Often times accidents occur on the premises of stores, restaurants, and other places.  People responsible for injuries sustained on the premises should be held liable.  These types of cases are also based on a contingency fee basis at no cost to the client unless we reach a settlement or judgment against the Defendant.
